Birchbox October Review: Daily Concepts Multi-Functional Soap Sponge Charcoal

I swear charcoal is to beauty, what avocado toast is to food. A big trend, love by millennials that I don't understand. Until about 5-10 minutes ago, when I just exited the bath.

If you have been following me on Instagram, Twitter or the blog's official Facebook Page, then you'll know that today, I had my Birchbox arrive in the post. Which means, that we're going to have a nice influx of Birchbox reviews (Yay), I decided to start with this soap-sponge because the product as a concept fascinated me.

The product is described by Birchbox as a 2-in-1 soap-sponge hybrid tool that combines detoxing charcoal body wash with a mild, exfoliating scrubber. In reality, I would but the scrubber above mild, especially on my elbows and knees. Now by all means, this isn't kitchen scouring pad rough, but it's not too far from it, my sensitive skinned folks, please be careful.

I also found that the soap didn't smell too great, especially comparing it to the likes of Lush, Body Shop and Clarins. Lush and Body Shop, being within the price point of this product. However I can praise it on being a very effective product, it lathered easily and removed all of my dirt.

So the ultimate question is it worth the cost? Well you can buy this 2-in-1 product for £6 on Birchbox and I honestly can't see how it's worth that much. It's a bar of soap wrapped around a sponge, incredibly messy to apply (seriously, you and your furniture will go black unless you rinse straight away) and just wasn't that exciting.

Final score: 4/10.

Don't worry folks, not everything was this meh in my box. Bookmark this blog or subscribe to get first news of the next review. Until next time, remember you are beautiful.
