Birchbox September Review: NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-purpose nourishing oil.
I would start this entry by saying don't attempt to pronounce this title. I can't ever pronounce this title for heavens sake. In case you aren't aware, NUXE is a French cosmetics brand originating from Paris. They are well known for their face and body products and their Huile Prodigieuse range of body oils. Which is where I come in.
Firstly, cost. You can buy 50ml of the oil for £18 or 100ml for £29 direct from the NUXE website. Not the cheapest body oil on the market however you can get a little gift set with a 10ml bottle (the one I'm reviewing) for £20. You know, for Christmas.
The bottle is very simple. No, bright and colourful design. No fancy slogans. Just a glass bottle with the label and a lid. NUXE clearly want the product to do the talking here.
Whilst the bottle isn't the greatest, I can be positive about the oil's scent. I don't know what it is with the French but they always have nice smelling products. Firstly there is L'Occitane and now NUXE. The oil smells like a really upmarket floral perfume, similar to the likes of Dior. I was very impressed.
Now a nice smelling oil is great but if it doesn't do the job, it won't be used again. Nor, will I recommend it. So how is it? Actually it's bloody good. I've just applied about 4-5 drops of oil on my body post bath and my skin now feels really moisturised. Not to mention, it's smells fantastic.
Another positive is that the oil sinks into the skin straight away. The means that there is no greasy texture that can be common with some oils. A major plus in my book.
Overall NUXE and its products fall under the banner of 'you get what you pay for'. If you are willing to pay a little bit more money and look past the bottle, then you will find a really good quality body oil with a really amazing fragrance.
Final Score: 7.5/10.
