App Review: Top Cash Back

Before we begin, let's do a little bit of housekeeping. Firstly, sorry for the delay, I have said in previous entries that I had a job interview and I'm pleased to report, I successfully got said job. I am now just waiting on my official contract with Leicestershire Adult Learning and then I will be an ICT and a craft tutor. This does mean that entries may not be as frequent as previous but I'm going to try and go for at least once a week.

Secondly, it will soon be Christmas. To celebrate, I will be making December "Christmas Month", so if you want to make any suggestions on what I should cover, please feel free to comment on this post.

Now, that's out of the way, onwards to this review. Top Cashback is the third app under my microscope and I previously spoken about the main website as part of the previous entry  In short, it is a company that provides a varying amount of cashback by making normal purchases. The only catch being that you need to use the website/app prior to each purchase.

You most likely know Top Cashback for their funny advert with a hippo. Picture Desciption: Bald Ginger man sits ontop of a hippo with a top hat. To his right, there are some electronic gadgets.  Picture Source: Top Cashback.

All stores are categorised to make finding them simpler both online and in-app. In addition, both offer the opportunity to search for your store and favourite places that you visit often.

In addition to the website's online deals, the app also allows you access 5-10 stores via an 'OnCard' option. How this works is that you register you card to the website, activate the store of interest and then pay for your chosen good in store, just like you would usually. The app then tracks the purchase and pays you the appropriate cashback.

The app also allows you to track your groceries easier than the website since it is far easier to upload a photo on a smart phone than it is a PC. Think of this like Dale's list on Supermarket Sweep (god, I felt old for 30 seconds), you have a list of 3-5 items and if you brought them during your shopping trip, you get cashback. Hurrah.

One of the things I liked about this app is that it worked indirectly with the other apps on my phone. For example, I am a huge lover of the website Groupon and have the Groupon App on my phone. When I used the app yesterday, to get some cashback on my aromatherapy oils, it took me directly to my Groupon App. A very big convenience in my book.

I did have a minor snag with the app however, I did struggle to access some of the exclusive deals on the app, whereas I could very easily access the deals on my PC.

That snag aside, the Top Cashback App is a must for your smartphone. It is super simple to use and you're getting money to go shopping. The sign up process is super simple and I have so far made £14.78 and have been using the service for about 3 weeks.

Final Score: 9/10.

If you want to sign up for Top Cashback, you can do so here. The process is super simple and you'll be able to start earning money straight away.

Until the next entry, remember you are all beautiful.

Kelly.
