Birchbox September review: Benefit Box O' Powder in Gold Rush

Firstly a quick apology. I am sorry for the lack of content recently. This is due to my mental health and having to double up on my magic pills. I will be attempting to do some more content now for you all.

Some of you may remember that last month, I reviewed some of the products from August's Birchbox. The CLE Lip Melting Lip powder being the first product that I reviewed. Therefore, I felt it made sense to start with some make-up again hence the product in the title.

Benefit is a make-up company that I have heard of. However, I know them mainly for their eyebrow care and products, as opposed to blusher. So when I received the email from Birchbox saying that my October box was going to contain a blusher, I was very excited and slightly curious, mainly because my broke ass can't afford the £25.50 price tag.

As you can see above, the gold case is ok. However, the standout is the ink-dot on top with the shade colour. Another thing, that immediately stuck out was its smell, now I don't normally expect my blusher to have a scent, hell the Lush brand of make up doesn't really smell of much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The easiest way to describe it, is a mixture of rose petals and baby powder.

Of course, pretty boxes and nice smells don't mean anything if the product doesn't do its job. Especially given the cost of this blusher.

The picture on the left is me without the blush and a very basic BB cream. The picture of me on the right is me with the blush. As you can clearly see, right hand me has a lot more colour and a beautiful glow. It is clear that the real MVP here is the 'golden flecks'. These as little bits of golden glitter are designed to work with the shade to make the glow look au-natural. As somebody who tends to be very apprehensive when it comes to using blusher during the daytime, I really appreciated this little bit of consideration.

I also really liked the peach colour. It's subtle enough for the day whilst giving my skin a little bit of well needed colour. I also think the colour slims me out slightly, but I'll leave you to be the judge of that.

Overall, I think this product is AMAZING. It's a very good size for a blusher, the colour is fantastic and the gold flecks provide a really nice glow. My only downside is the cost, mainly because I would not be able to justify spending over £25 on blusher.

Final Score: 9/10.

Fancy trying the blusher yourself without the huge pricetag? How does trying the blusher and 4 other beauty products sound? If this sounds like a fabulous deal (and let's be honest, it is a great deal), then use the link to Birchbox to get £5 off your first box. This mean you're only paying £7.95 including P&P, which is less than half price for the blusher alone. Also you get treats sent to you, every month, what's not to love?

Until next time readers, remember you are all beautiful.
