Easy Uni Hacks

University. A time full of poor adults with drinking problems who every now and then do some learning. However, this generation is taking more of an effort with their health and appearance. So here are some of my hints and tips for all you students/potential students out there.

1. For fancy dress socials, charity shops and Primark are your best friends.

One of my socials was chavtastic

The reality is, if you join at least one society/sports club during your time at university, you will be dressing in a fancy dress costume like a twat at least once. Now I could write a whole essay on how by the third drinking game, you won't give a shit about the fact you're wearing a onesie in the middle of public, but that's a different blog. Instead, I'm talking about how you can save money on costumes.

Charity shops often have a variety of tacky t-shirts (island social, S*** shirts, etc.), old dress and jewellery (royalty, pensioner, etc.) at very low prices. In addition, all the money will be going to good causes so you'll be doing your bit for others whilst saving money.

For anything you can't get in a charity shop, go Primark. A white T-Shirt is only £3-4 and works for a variety of different social themes.

In short, the lesson more spent on costumes, the more money you can spend on alcohols.

2.  Sign up for loyalty cards for shops that you use often.

In a previous blog entry, I spoke about different loyalty cards available in the UK. As a student, it's super important that you sign up for at least one of these. That way you can still buy products when you're running low on funds towards the end of term.

3. Go to the market for fruits and veggies.

Markets are cheap. Markets are local and most importantly, markets are wonderful. So make sure you know where your nearest market it for low cost salad and smoothie ingredients.

So that's all. Let me know if you have any more uni hacks in the comments below. If you're at uni, let me know what you're studying and how you're finding Freshers week.
