Birchbox October Review: Lord and Berry Magic Brow Eyebrow Pencil in Brunette
Prior to this month's Birchbox, I only used one product on my eyebrows. Now as a fashion and beauty blogger, that might supprise you but I'll admit, when it comes to brows, I need to step up my game. Clearly the lords of Birchbox thought the same because in this month's box, they gave me a brand new brow pencil to review.
You guys might have heard me talk about Lord & Berry before. Since they are the brand behind my favourite highlighter at the moment. If you want to see me use that stick, you can do via my Pink Fantasy video. For those who haven't, or CBA to watch the video, Lord and Berry are a higher end make up company with simple packaging and branding. The magic brow pencil is currently £15 on the official website or £13.50 from Birchbox if you had the pencil in October's box (£15 if you didn't). Now this is a little bit more expensive than what I usually pay, however I am more than willing to put my hand in my purse, if the product is worth it.
Final Score: 8/10 (the only reason that it's not in the hall of fame is due to the lack of ability to review the brush).

So is it worth it? To be honest, I cannot truly say. You see, in previous reviews of Birchbox products, I would either have a, a full sized product such as the Daily Concepts Soap,
or b, a sample sized product such as the Nuxe Oil. The magic eye pencil I received in my box? It's half a product.

You see, the £15 full sized product contains the pencil, i.e. the thing I'm reviewing and an eyebrow brush. However, you can see from the picture above, there's no eyebrow brush. There is only the pencil. This does mean that I'm only going to have to knock points off the bat because let's be frank, I can't give a 10 only half a product.
So missing brush aside, what's the eyebrow pencil like? It's actually really bloody good.

As you can see from the swatch above, the pencil is really pigmented. It also is a really creamy blend which was huge plus for me.
When I've used my previous eyebrow product, it had a brush. Why? Because cheap make up pencils hurt. I've have many a nightmare where my eye and lips have been battered by harsh stabbings. This eyebrow pencil doesn't do that. It's really simple to apply and there was no pain.

The great thing about this pencil also is that it is a mix of 3 different shades that is marbled together. What this means is that the brows actually look really natural, as you can see above without making me look like the latest cast member of Geordie Shore (no tea no shade guys but my liver would never be able to hack getting mortal for 6 straight weeks). I remember leaving the house after wearing this yesterday, having the biggest confidence boost in the world.
Overall, despite the lack of brush, Lord and Berry have really came through with this eyebrow pencil. The product is easy to apply, has really good pigments and gives a really good finish. Spend your dollar and buy this ASAP.
Final Score: 8/10 (the only reason that it's not in the hall of fame is due to the lack of ability to review the brush).
Remember folks you are beautiful. I will see you in the next entry.
